Fresno police seized 29 grams of rock cocaine, cash and a .45 caliber pistol Wednesday after officers spotted a BMW parked the wrong way in southwest Fresno.
Police said officers were patrolling the area following a gang shooting this week in which seven people were injured when they spotted the car. The driver, parked at Klette Avenue and Tulare Street, reportedly began to drive away to avoid officers. After a traffic stop, police found that the driver, identified as Michael Anthony Vega, 18, did not have a license. The passenger was identified as Oscar Gonzalez, 20. Vega allowed officers to search the car and the cocaine, gun and $560 were recovered.
The men were booked into Fresno County Jail and a juvenile in the back seat was placed in the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Facility, all on narcotics and weapons charges.
