A Madera regional SWAT team Wednesday arrested an attempted murder suspect after a standoff at a home in the 1100 block of Sierra Street.
A police spokesman said the incident took place after a Madera officer spotted Salvador Lopez, sought by Madera Sheriff’s deputies in connection with the attempted murder case. Salvador ran and barricaded himself in the home. After a search warrant was written, the SWAT team went into the house and found Salvador hiding in an attic. He was taken into custody after a police dog was sent into the attic.
