A 2-year-old boy brought into a Tulare hospital not breathing and without a heartbeat on Sunday has died, Tulare police Sgt. Timothy Ramirez said.
Three people were arrested and will be charged with homicide, said Ramirez. Police say the boy’s injuries were from torture and cruel or inhuman corporal punishment. Edward Dias, 36, Shania Alamillo, 23 and Adriana Alamillo, 27, all of Tulare, were all arrested after an initial investigation.
A 3-year-old found with the adults also had injuries consistent with abuse and was taken by child welfare services, Ramirez said.
The 2-year-old boy was brought by car to Tulare Regional Medical Center around 4 p.m. Sunday, where he was stabilized and taken to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera County before his death Thursday.
