A Visalia motorcyclist sustained major injuries Saturday when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision took place just before 9 p.m. as Gregory Russell, 21, was eastbound on Avenue 272 west of Road 100. The CHP reported that the driver of a 2004 Toyota, who was westbound, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with Russell’s 2003 Yamaha. The Toyota driver, who was estimated to be about 50 years old, ran from the crash and remains at large. Russell was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
