A woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of homicide of a Visalia man who was run over outside his home.
Chaylin Funez, 18, is suspected of intentionally running over a man at 10:17 p.m. Saturday. He was identified Monday by Visalia police as Eric Fisher, 35.
Police say the incident started when two men began having an argument on the street near the victim’s home near Conyer Street and Prospect Avenue. Fisher attempted to prevent the men from fighting then walked back to his house. One of the men then got into a car with Funez, who then ran over the victim, police said.
Witnesses told police it looked as though the suspect intentionally ran over Fisher, who was taken to the hospital and later died.
Police arrested Funez on charges of homicide and hit and run. The male passenger was also taken into custody at the time, though police determined he was a witness only and released him.
On Tuesday a memorial was set up to honor Fisher.
Cruz Cervantes, a neighbor of Fisher’s, put up a memorial cross in his yard.
