Multiple shots were fired Monday morning in an apartment complex in southwest Fresno and at a nearby business, but there were no apparent injuries, Lt. Joe Gomez said.
Patrol officers went to an apartment complex in the 2300 block of South Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9 a.m. after numerous callers reported shots fired, and one caller said the shooters were jumping fences, Gomez said.
Officers found broken glass in a parking lot from a Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the shooting. Callers also said a dark sedan similar to a Mercedes Benz was involved.
As they investigated, officers found a handgun on the ground near a fence of a cleaning business across the street from the apartment complex and shell casings in the parking lot, Gomez said.
A caller told police the Tahoe had been parked at the Bigby Village complex at 1329 E. Reverend Chester Riggins Ave., and then the driver walked away on Clara Avenue.
Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
