Billboards honoring victims of drunk drivers are going up in the Fresno area today in a holiday campaign launched by Mothers against Drunk Driving.
In a news conference at CBS Outdoor advertising this morning, the signs were unveiled by Victoria Flores, whose son Rick Flores, 45, died in a head-on collision in March of 2010. The driver of the other car, Jonathan Watson, 34, was also killed in the collision.
"My life and my family's lives will never be the same," said Victoria Flores. "My hope is that no other family will have to experience what our family lives with each day."
Lt. Tony Bennink of the Fresno Police Department's traffic unit warned would-be drunk drivers that patrol officers will be out in force beginning tonight with multiple DUI operations.
