Fresno City College's Chris Urquizo and Fernando Lucatero won titles at the California Community College Wrestling Championships on Saturday in Hayward.
Urquizo defeated Shasta's Tim Navarette 6-4 at 157 pounds, while Lucatero edged Sacramento City's Joe Garner 5-4 at 165.
Santa Ana (158.50) won the title, Sierra (122) was second and 2008 champ Fresno City (115) third.
The Rams' other finalist, 285-pounder Austin Garza, lost 5-2 against Cerritos' Jose Lopez.
Other medalists for Fresno City included Galen Williams (third at 125), Dan Osmer (third, 133), Joe Cisneros (fifth, 174), Justin Walker (fifth, 184) and Lucas Keene (seventh, 197). A.J. Jaramillo (125) of West Hills-Lemoore was sixth.
Fresno City men are champs
The Fresno City College men's basketball team won the Modesto Tournament for the third straight year behind MVP LaBrent Chappell's 16 points.
Jibreel Nasir and Edward Willis each had 11 points for the Rams.
It was the fourth straight title in Modesto for Rams coach Ed Modec, who also won the tournament while at Siskiyous.
FCC women place second
Fresno City failed to protect a seven-point lead over the final 4 minutes in losing 77-73 to Fullerton in the final of the Rams' women's basketball tournament.
MVP Taiyande Huskey had 19 points for Fullerton, while Sumiya Darden had 23 for Fresno City.
