Clovis police: Motorcyclist broadsides SUV; rider in critical condition

A motorcyclist was in critical condition Friday morning after he broadsided an SUV in a Clovis parking lot Thursday night, police said.

The Toyota Highlander had just made a left turn into the Walmart parking lot near Herndon and Clovis avenues about 5:20 p.m. when the motorcyclist, whose age or identity have not been released, hit the side of the SUV. Three children and two adults were inside the vehicle. They were not hurt, police said.

Witnesses told officers the motorcyclist was weaving in and out of traffic when he ran into the Toyota, police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
