A 49-year-old Clovis man was arrested in connection with a New Year's Eve hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 that injured a San Luis Obispo police officer.
Police said Monday that California Highway Patrol officers arrested Wade Evin Hamby, 49, on Saturday.
At 6:15 a.m. Dec. 31, San Luis Obispo police Sgt. Jeff Booth was rear-ended in his marked police vehicle as he entered northbound Highway 101 at Prado Road.
The driver, later identified as Hamby, then reportedly fled. Authorities previously said he was speeding when the crash occurred.
Booth suffered minor injuries, police said.
