Andreas Borgeas, who is almost three years into his first term on the Fresno City Council, announced Tuesday that he is officially a candidate for Fresno County supervisor.
The widely expected announcement makes Borgeas the second person to officially say he will seek the seat. In May, real estate company owner Larry Fortune said the same thing.
Borgeas immediately formed an "exploratory committee" in January when Supervisor Susan Anderson said she would not seek re-election. The district covers north Fresno and parts of Clovis.
Both Borgeas and Fortune have spent months acting like real candidates, and for Borgeas, Tuesday was no exception. He made his announcement just ahead of a campaign fundraiser.
