A bicyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon in Clovis when he became stuck under a car and was dragged for a short distance, police said.
A motorist driving out of a parking lot near 40 W. Shaw Ave. about 2:30 p.m. thought the bicyclist had stopped and was not crossing in front of the car, said Calli Biaggi, a Clovis police spokeswoman. The driver looked the other way, entered the roadway and struck the bicyclist.
The bicyclist became entangled under the car and was dragged across the intersection of Minnewawa and Fairmont avenues before the vehicle hit a light pole.
The bicyclist was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver was not injured.
