A Fresno man who died Sunday in a single-vehicle accident west of Fresno along the San Joaquin River was identified Monday by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as Michael Acord, 44.
Acord was thrown from a vehicle traveling on Dickenson Avenue at Herndon Avenue.
Fire and rescue crews arrived about 7:30 a.m. Sunday to find the vehicle in the water.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in obtaining information on the county's most recent homicide case.
Humberto Esquivel-Leon, 44, of Parlier, was shot and killed Friday during a robbery at a house on the 6400 block of South Locan Avenue, sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice said.
On Saturday, the sheriff's office identified the victim as Humberto Leon, 43, of Fowler.
Esquivel-Leon was at the home with other people when several masked, armed suspects came into the house.
The homicide was the county's 13th this year. There were 23 homicides by this time last year.

Burglars ransacking home are surprised
A Madera man surprised burglars ransacking his house when he returned home about 1 p.m. Monday, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said.
The burglars -- four or five Hispanic men in their 20s -- took a rifle and Christmas presents from the house on Walden Drive near Avenue 17. They drove away in a teal, older-model minivan, sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said. The homeowner was not injured.
2 North Fork boys arrested in burglary
Two North Fork boys, ages 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of felony burglary in connection with a theft at the North Fork Market on Friday.
They were booked into the Madera County Juvenile Hall.
Missing from the market was more than $1,000 in cash, liquor, cigarettes and security cameras.

VA Medical Center celebrates 60th year
The Veterans Affairs Central California Healthcare System will celebrate its 60th anniversary today in central Fresno.
The celebration will start at 10 a.m. at the Fresno VA Medical Center at 2615 E. Clinton Ave., officials said. Visitors can participate in facility tours, watch a video montage covering the last 60 years and enjoy refreshments.
Fresno Co. agency's low error rate saluted
The Fresno County Department of Social Services will receive a special award today for maintaining the lowest food stamp benefit payment error rate in California.
The award will be presented at the Board of Supervisors meeting, officials said.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services and the California Department of Social Services selected the Fresno County Department of Social Services as the award recipient for maintaining an error rate of 0.78% for the federal fiscal year of 2009.
Sheriff's Office hosts 3-day blood drive
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is hosting a blood drive three days this week, officials said.
The Holiday Heroes Blood Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Fresno County Main Jail parking lot at Fresno and L streets, sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice said.
The event will move to the Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Donors will receive a T-shirt and be entered to win one of 12 $100 Sierra Vista Mall gift cards.
