The Clovis FFA Meats Judging team won first place at the National FFA Meats Evaluation and Technology Career Development Event held in Illinois.
The top six individuals and the national winning team members received scholarships.
The Clovis team: Cole Lane, Markie Hudiburgh, Kelli Williamson and Lacey McGrath. Lane, McGrath and Williamson also took first, second and eighth place in the individual competition.
Each team had competed at local and state levels to earn the chance to represent their state in the national competition.
The event was held in conjunction with the 83rd National FFA Convention at the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill. The competition tests students' skills and competencies in evaluating and identifying meat carcasses and products.
