A Clovis man was arrested late Wednesday in connection with a shooting spree that began at a Clovis pub.
John Birdsell, 33, was booked for reckless discharges of a firearm and possession of an assault weapon, police Cpl. Vince Weibert, said.
Birdsell was in Grogg’s Irish Pub in the 1200 block of North Willow Avenue about 10 p.m. when he became involved in a dispute with another patron and was escorted out, Weibert said. He reportedly got into his vehicle and, while driving away, fired a handgun toward the pub. No one was injured.
Police searching for Birdsell went to the 300 block of West Lester Avenue to check on gunshots heard there. They found Birdsell’s vehicle in the driveway of his home in the 200 block of West Lester, along with spent shell casings nearby, Weibert said.

Birdsell was taken into custody without incident.
