A teenage boy was in critical condition Monday after colliding with a pickup truck west of Dinuba.
California Highway Patrol Sgt. Michael Donnelly said the crash happened around 4 p.m. The 13-year-old was driving a 2006 Honda ATV north on Road 48 as a Chevrolet Silverado pickup also was driving north.
Donnelly said Nathan Laemmlen, 27, of Reedley was driving 60 to 65 mph when the teen made a turn west toward Avenue 400 and was struck by the oncoming pickup.
Donnelly said the teen, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the ATV. He was airlifted to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia with major injuries but was later transported to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.

The condition of the teen was not known Monday night. Donnelly said the crash is under investigation.
