A man is dead after a boating accident on Edison Lake on Saturday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Sunday, the sheriff’s office identified him as Michael Flynn, 56, believed to be from the Terra Bella or Ducor area.
Flynn was in an aluminum fishing boat that capsized just before 3 p.m. He was not wearing a life jacket, although one was later found in the boat.
Flynn’s friend tried swimming from the shore to help him, but was unable to give aid, the sheriff’s office said.

Two hikers eventually pulled Flynn out of the water and performed CPR, but were unable to revive him. When paramedics arrived, Flynn was airlifted to Fresno Yosemite International Airport, where his body was released to the coroner’s office.
The sheriff’s office said alcohol appears to have been a factor in the man’s drowning.
