The Mineral Fire near Coalinga was brought to 85 percent containment by Monday morning, six days after it began and burned through more than 7,000 acres, Cal Fire said Monday.
The wildfire, located near Highway 198 and Mineral Springs Road, eight miles west of Coalinga, has destroyed two structures while scorching the 7,050 acres since Aug. 8. Full containment is expected by Tuesday, Aug. 16. The cause is under investigation.
There have been no injuries thus far, and there are currently no evacuation orders or warnings.
Monday morning, Cal Fire announced that Mineral Springs Road had been reopened for all traffic.
