Jet fighter pilots from three squadrons returned to Lemoore Naval Air Station Tuesday afternoon following a seven-month deployment on the USS John C. Stennis, and a fourth squadron was due later in the day.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet squadrons are in Carrier Air Wing 9, which flew 10,295 sorties during the deployment.
In all, 900 sailors in the strike fighter squadrons and the fleet readiness center’s sea operations detachment will be returning to Lemoore.
From June 30 to Aug. 4, the Stennis aircraft carrier participated in the Rim of the Pacific 2016 exercise involving 26 nations in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.
