A Fresno man is among 174 FedEx drivers to compete in the National Truck Driving Competition, sponsored by American Trucking Associations. Fresno’s Eddie Guerrero will drive in the competition in Indianapolis Aug. 9-13.
Guerrero is a 36-year driving professional and won first place in Straight Truck Class for California in 2016.
Around 2,000 professional drivers are expected to compete this year. Competitors must be accident-free for at least one year before the competition, and many competitors have millions of accident-free driving miles to their credit, the American Trucking Associations says.
