An 8-year-old girl died in a vehicle accident near Visalia on Sunday night, the California Highway Patrol said.
Shortly before 9 p.m., the CHP said Leticia Ramirez, 38, of Woodlake drove her 2009 Nissan Versa into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling west on Highway 198 at Road 196.
The Tahoe, driven by Ramon Garcia, 37, of Visalia, collided with the right side of the Nissan, killing the girl.
A second passenger in the Nissan was identified by CHP as 17-year-old Rosa Perez, who suffered minor injuries. Ramirez also was left with minor injuries.
Garcia’s condition is unknown; his passenger, Socorro Garcia, 42, also of Visalia, sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol did not appear to be factor in the accident, the CHP said.
