The Curry fire evacuation warning for Coalinga was lifted Sunday morning as containment lines around the blaze grew.
The wildfire burning at Highway 198 and Curry Mountain near Coalinga started Friday at 5 p.m. and was about seven miles southwest of Coalinga. Highway 198 was closed from east of the junction at Highway 25 in Monterey County to Firestone Avenue in Coalinga, but reopened at Saturday evening, Cal Fire said.
The warning was issued along Highway 198 from Coalinga to the Monterey/Fresno county line, as well as three miles south of Highway 198 at the Parkfield Grade.
There are currently no other evacuation orders or warnings.
Containment for the wildfire has reached 70 percent, Cal Fire said Sunday. The Curry Fire has burned through 2,944 acres.
