A juvenile inmate being held at the Juvenile Justice Campus south of Fresno died Saturday.
Bryana Terriquez, 16, of Coalinga, was experiencing a medical issue, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
An ambulance responded and transported Terriquez to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is continuing, the Sheriff’s Office said, and her family has been notified. The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy.
Terriquez was in custody due to a probation violation, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office did not say why she was on probation, noting she was a minor.
