A woman who jumped from a railroad overcrossing on to Highway 99 in Fresno near Belmont Avenue was struck by two vehicles and killed Saturday, the CHP said.
The woman, who was in her 20s, jumped around 4:20 p.m. onto southbound Highway 99, Sgt. Joseph Bianchi said. When officers responded, they found her lying in the far left lane.
She was hit by two vehicles, one of which is believed to be a Nissan pickup, Bianchi said. Two lanes of the highway were closed off from Belmont to Teilman avenues and were reopened around 6:30 p.m.
