    Valley residents gathered Friday, April 22, 2016, for three ceremonies to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the Armenian genocide: a flag-raising ceremony was held at Fresno City Hall; a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the monument to Soghomon Tehlirian at Masis Ararat Cemetery; and, finally, the placement of carnations was held at the Fresno State Armenian Genocide Monument.
