The third annual Helping Hams campaign kicked off Thursday at Fresno State’s Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market.
The campaign runs through Dec. 4. The effort to feed the hungry during the holidays by raising money to donate student-produced holiday hams.
Donations will be accepted at the Gibson Farm Market at 5368 N. Chestnut Ave. or can be mailed to 2385 E. Barstow Ave. AG85, Fresno, CA 93740. A tax deduction recepit is available upon request.
Donations will be accepted in increments of $5, with $30 purchasing one ham for a family in need. Fresno State’s goal is to raise enough money to donate 175 hams this year.
Fresno State students who donate will receive a free kid’s scoop of ice cream at the Farm Market (one scoop per student donor).
The Gibson Farm Market is open 9-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9-4p.m. on Saturday and 11-4 p.m. Sunday.
