A vigil to support victims of the Nepal earthquake and their families will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday in the Peace Garden at Fresno State.
The vigil will include speakers and information about how to donate to quake victims. As of Friday, the Associated Press reported the earthquake had killed more than 6,000 people.
Fresno State President Joseph Castro has urged the campus community to support the efforts of Fresno State Nepali faculty and students who are coordinating local relief efforts, and recommended giving to three established organizations: UNICEF, Catholic Relief Services and American Red Cross.
Friday’s vigil in Fresno is sponsored by the International Student Services Program, International Student Association, Geography Club and Plant Science Club.
