An 89-year-old Selma woman was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash south of Kingsburg.
The California Highway Patrol said a 2004 Cadillac Escalade was traveling south on Sixth Avenue north of Bangor Avenue around 4:45 p.m., going about 45 mph. The front of a 2014 Hyundai Sonata hit the right side of the Cadillac as the Hyundai pulled out of the parking lot of Meli’s Grocery.
The impact caused the Cadillac to overturn and the woman, a front-seat passenger, was thrown from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other three people in the Cadillac, all from Selma, had minor to moderate injuries. The male driver of the Hyundai, from Sanger, had minor injuries.
The CHP said alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash, and no one was arrested.
