More than 2,000 people will walk for MS Saturday at the Fig Garden Village to raise awareness and donations to help those with multiple sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system that affects more than 2.3 million worldwide.
The event is hosted by the Southern California & Nevada chapter of the National MS Society. Fresno County Supervisor Henry Perea will kick it off, and there will be live music, food and contest prizes.
The opening ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. at Fig Garden Village, 5082 N. Palm Ave at the parking lot north of Whole Foods.
The official start for the one-to-two-mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m., with finish-line activities at 10:30 a.m.
