Pacific Gas & Electric Co. will replace trees it uprooted last year for safety reasons at a ceremony on Friday in northeast Fresno.
PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles said the Canary Island Pine Trees planted on Millbrook Avenue were removed last year because they were planted near power lines and dropped limbs on the sidewalk. They will be replaced with smaller trees.
PG&E will plant the new trees, and city of Fresno crews will install and maintain efficient irrigation systems, Boyles said. Fresno City Council Member Lee Brand will also be in attendance.
The effort will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Millbrook Avenue between Goshen and El Paso avenues.
