The public is invited to a mental health awareness event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 3 at Carter Memorial A.M.E. Church, 940 Waterman Ave. in Fresno.
A social gathering will be from 1:15 to 2 p.m. at the church.
The event is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Fresno chapter. NAMI and the sorority are launching a partnership in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, which is observed in May.
