A fire spread through the garage and interior of a Visalia home on Friday night and caused significant damage, fire officials said.
Battalion Chief Darrin Hughes said that firefighters saw heavy flames shooting from the house in the 2200 block of South County Center Drive when they arrived just before 7:30 p.m. The fire was quickly contained, but the damage to the $160,000 home was estimated at $85,000 plus an additional $10,000 in lost property.
No one was injured during the fire, and the occupant was not home when it broke out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
