Brianna Ramirez was main attraction during a softball friendly event held Sunday in her honor at Madera South High School.
Twenty-one teams participated in the tournament, with sales of T-shirts held as a fundraiser to help defray Brianna’s medical bills. Brianna, a Sanger High School softball player who is from Parlier, was hit in the eye by suspected gang gunfire in February. She lost her right eye as a result.
The event was sponsored by the Central Cal Dirt Dogs softball organization.
