A member of the Hanford 209 Gangster Crips was arrested Wednesday evening in central Fresno on charges of selling drugs while armed with a firearm.
Fresno police Sgt. Paul Cervantes said officers pulled over a car carrying Gerald Wharry, 35, for a traffic violation at Blackstone and Ashlan avenues. They determined that he had provided false identification and that he was sought on a felony warrant.
Officers also found a loaded .32 caliber handgun in the car. Cervantes said Wharry admitted the gun was his and that he was also carrying seven packets of methamphetamine, six packets of powder cocaine and a bindle of crack cocaine. He was booked into Fresno County Jail.
