Caltrans plans to use sweeping machines to clear roadside debris on Highway 99 as well as freeway interchanges in Fresno, creating moving lane closures on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sweeper crews will be out on Highway 99 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, first working their way north from Jensen Avenue to Ashlan Avenue in the far left, fast lane as they clean the freeway’s center median. Once they reach Ashlan Avenue, crews will switch to the southbound lane and work their way back toward Jensen.
On Thursday, sweeping crews will work on cleaning up the shoulders of several freeway interchanges from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Moving lane closures will be in place at the interchanges of Highways 99 and 180, Highways 180 and 41, and Highways 180 and 168.
On both days, safety vehicles will alert drivers to the slow-moving sweeping equipment ahead and California Highway Patrol officers will be providing extra traffic support.
