A cropduster helicopter hit a power line and crashed Friday northeast of Visalia, the Tulare County Fire Department said.
The pilot of suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital, battalion chief Jeff McLaughlin said.
The incident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Friday in the area of Avenue 384 near Road 172.
The pilot was spraying insecticide onto an orchard but no hazardous materials incident was declared because no spill occurred, and the amount remaining in the aircraft’s tank was small, McLaughlin said.
