A 52-year-old truck-driver from Madera was involved in a car crash that left two people dead Saturday in Nevada, the state Highway Patrol said.
Louis Manuel Plascencia was attempting to make a U-turn in a Freightliner with a trailer on Highway 95 south of Mina, a tiny hamlet about 170 miles southeast of Reno, when the rear of his trailer was struck by a Honda. The driver of the Honda and one of his passengers died at the scene.
The trailer was still partially in the roadway when Plascencia attempted to make the U-turn, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. The trailer in the roadway and fatigue may have been factors in this collision, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
