A 79-year-old man was killed Tuesday when his rode his bicycle through a stop sign and was struck by a car on North Piedra Road near Highway 180, northeast of Sanger, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP Sgt. Jim Del Carlo said officers arrived just after 3:30 p.m. and found the victim, who the Fresno County coroner later identified as Robert Irvin of Sanger.
Irvin’s bicycle collided with a car driven by Heather R. Coleman of Sanger. Coleman will not be charged, CHP said.
