Sunday is the last day to get health insurance to avoid a tax penalty for 2015 under the Affordable Care Act.
Covered California officials are urging Valley residents to take advantage of enrollment events that are planned this weekend in Fresno:
• Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Roosevelt High School, 4250 E. Tulare St., Fresno.

• (Kaiser Permanente) KP Shop, 3676 W. Shaw Ave, Fresno: hours are Monday-Saturday, 9-7 p.m.; Sunday, 10-6 p.m.
Nearly nine out of every 10 people who enrolled last year in Covered California health plans received federal subsidies to help pay for monthly insurance premiums. The estimated average amount received for a year’s coverage was more than $5,200 per household, according to Covered California.
