• The much-anticipated Chick-fil-A restaurant in the parking lot of Fashion Fair is scheduled to open Thursday with a grand opening at 9:30 a.m. Expect lots of excitement as the first 100 people in line get free Chick-fil-A food for a year.
• World Ag Expo in Tulare opens its three-day run Tuesday. The farm equipment and trade show is the largest of its kind. About 100,000 people from all over the world are expected to attend the expo, held at International Agri-Center, 4500 S. Laspina St., Tulare.
• On Friday, the State Public Works Board will consider nearly 30 resolutions authorizing the use of condemnation for property in Fresno and Madera counties for California’s high-speed rail project. The meeting is at 10 a.m. at the state Department of Finance, Redwood Training Room, 916 L St. in Sacramento.
