Visalia will begin district election of council members in 2016, and the public is invited to help draw the boundaries.
Informational meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Annie Mitchell Elementary School, 2121 E. Laura Ave., and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at Oak Grove Elementary School, 4445 W. Ferguson Ave.
National Demographic Corporation, hired by the city to develop district boundaries, will lead the discussions.
A dozen maps have been submitted by the public so far and are available at the city’s website. Maps will be on display at each meeting for review and comment.
The City Council expects to adopt new boundaries by June.
