Gas prices are tumbling, falling 19 cents in the last month to an average $3.91 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Fresno, according to AAA of Northern California.
Prices fell the same amount in the Visalia-Tulare-Porterville area, to an average $3.86.
Prices are dropping because California has ample supplies of gasoline, the summer travel season is winding down and there is no immediate threat to distribution of oil, according to AAA. Prices are expected to continue to fall.
In California, prices have fallen 23 cents over the last month to an average $3.91 a gallon.
Nationwide, prices are down 18 cents to an average $3.47 a gallon.
