A traveling memorial to honor soldiers from California who have died in the war on terror will begin a two-week stop in Fresno on Wednesday.
“Remembering Our Fallen” is a statewide traveling photo memorial of California’s 743 fallen service members – including four from Fresno – and will include personal and military photos of each.
The memorial was brought to Fresno by Councilman Garry Bredefeld and will be displayed on the first floor of Fresno City Hall through Wednesday, Nov. 29.
“This memorial clearly and painfully demonstrates the ultimate sacrifice these service members have given to our nation,” Bredefeld said. “Freedom is never free and these heroes from California fought against the evil forces that want to destroy our country and way of life.
Never miss a local story.
"We are grateful and honor them and will never forget their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their families.”
