Cooler weather and rain showers arrived in the central San Joaquin Valley on Thursday, a day ahead of the start of fall.
The weather also brought a dusting of snow to Yosemite National Park and the Sierra. The major mountain passes for vehicles – Tioga, Ebbets and Sonora – all were closed. Tioga Pass reopened around 11 a.m.
Fresno received about 0.04 of an inch of rain overnight, Madera 0.07 and Visalia a trace.
There was a report of flooding at Perrin and Saybrook avenues in northeast Fresno.
