Water rescue teams pulled two men from the Kings River following a boating crash Tuesday, one later died, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The crash was reported at 12:02 p.m. east of Hobbs Grove, near Sanger. CPR was administered to one patient, who was taken to Community Regional Medical Center by ambulance with emergency lights showing. He later died.
The second man was treated for minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, according to Emergency Medical Services reports.
Initial reports indicated that a boat overturned, Fresno County sheriff’s Lt. Brent Stalker said. By 12:30 p.m., one person was rescued and a second was still in the water.

He confirmed that one man died. The relationship between the two men, both in their 40s, wasn’t known, he said.
The second man was pulled from the water by a Cal Fire boat. Sanger Fire Department and Fresno County Sheriff’s rescue teams administered CPR.
A law enforcement aircraft also was used in the search.
