One person suffered significant burns in a fire at the Glen Agnes Elderly Care facility in central Fresno.
The fire was reported at 5:32 p.m. Monday in a residence on the first floor of the four-story facility at 530 W. Floradora Ave., near Fruit Avenue. Firefighters were on scene at 5:35 p.m. and sprinklers had put out the fire by 5:45 p.m.
A portion of the facility was evacuated. Some residents were evacuated for an extended period.
There were no indications of other injuries, and the victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. His room was the only one burned, though five occupants were to be provided shelter by the Red Cross due to water damage in their rooms, Battalion Chief Brian Price said.
