Learn about parks needs
The League of Women Voters of Fresno is sponsoring a bus tour June 14 of southeast and southwest Fresno to learn about the needs of parks in those areas of the city.
Bus seating may be limited. Reservations are required; call 559-431-0360 before June 9. The reservation includes a complementary continental breakfast. The tour will gather at Stone Soup at 8:30 a.m. June 9, and the bus will return there at noon.

Fresno County & City Republican Women Federated will meet at noon June 22 at Ramada Inn, 324 E. Shaw Ave. Keynote speaker Brad Maaske is host of “Real Talk” on KMJ 580 and a broker; he will speak on “Real Estate Gets Real.” The luncheon costs $20 and reservations must be received by June 15. Summer reading program for teens
Tulare County Library will hold a summer reading program, “Reading by Design,” for ages 13-19. Pre-registration is June 9-10 but teens can register anytime throughout the program. Tachi Palace raises $54,000 for food pantry
Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino raised over $54,000 for Visalia Emergency Aid Council through an annual golf charity and its monthly community breakfast. VEAC operates the largest food pantry in Tulare County and serves over 1,100 families per month. Money raised will help build a community pantry, family resource center and an education center.
