A two-alarm fire destroyed a family’s mobile home Tuesday and took the life of a dog south of Fresno, according to Fresno County Fire Protection District reports.
The 2:39 p.m. fire at Central and Orange avenues, east of Highway 99, displaced three residents. One dog died from smoke inhalation and a second dog was saved with medical aid, said Capt. Jeremiah Wittwer.
The fire spread to debris and a grass field, scorching an additional quarter-acre around the home, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Central Valley Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family with shelter.
