Three people are dead following a collision on Highway 43 south of Hanford on Monday night in which a driver who ran a stop sign was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
The Kings County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Alphonso Wimbley, 55, Kristin Wimbley, 44, and Kyan Wimbley, 14, of Corcoran.
Alphonso and Kyan Wimbley, who were passengers, died at the scene, and driver Kristin Wimbley died at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, the CHP said.
Two cars were involved in the crash, which happened about 8:25 p.m.
A 1992 Chevrolet pickup driven by Adalberto Carrillo, 42, of Tulare was headed east on Idaho Avenue and ran through the stop sign at Highway 43 and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox headed south. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia due to major injuries and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, the CHP said.
