A Dinuba man was killed Friday in a crash involving two vehicles southwest of Dinuba in Tulare County.
The California Highway Patrol said Candelario Soto, 60, was driving a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon with two passengers north on Road 74 at Highway 201 when he entered the path of Jim Dwayne Followill, 53, of Dinuba, who was eastbound in a 2012 Hyundai Sonata.
The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. CHP said Followill’s car broadsided Soto’s car. The force caused Soto’s car to rotate and collide with a power pole. Soto died at the scene.
Soto’s passengers, Mary Ruby Soto, 59, of Dinuba and a 15-year-old Cutler girl suffered major injuries and were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia. Followill only suffered minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.
Alcohol or drugs are currently not factors in the crash investigation, the CHP said.
